Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) limited, Ranchi has bagged an order worth Rs28 crore for Wagon Tippler and Wagon Pusher from Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) through competitive bidding. Presently, the orders in hand have soared to Rs1501 Crore.
The order includes design, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of Wagon pusher and Wagon Tippler along with DSl structure and also includes supply of Dummy Wagons. The work is to be executed in 20 months including the erection and commissioning period. HEC team has geared up to make the supply within contractual delivery.
Wagon pusher and wagon tippler are used for unloading of coal, iron, ore or dolomite. Previously supplied Wagon Tipplers and Wagon Pushers had manual control. The equipments to be supplied under the present order will have
remotely controlled state-of-the-art features.
The wagon tippler consists of a table for positioning the wagon, wagon holding mechanism, gears and pinions for rotation and drive unit. It may also be mentioned here that the earlier supplied Wagon Tipplers and Wagon Pushers in 1988 are still in operation in VSP for the last 26 years. HEC has also been supplying the spares for these equipments.
