The Meteorological Department has issued a warning that ruthless heat wave conditions are expected to persist in Jharkhand for the next four-five days. Though there is a chance of feeble rainfall with thunderstorms in the north-eastern districts like Garhwa, Giridih, Pakur, Deoghar, Palamau including isolated belts of the state. But it will hardly provide any relief to the people from the scorching heat. The dry weather will continue in the days to come.
The weather bulletin released by Ranchi observatory centre of the IMD on Monday predicted an average rise of two degree Celsius in temperature across the state and ruled out possibility of rainfall in the next 72 hours at Ranchi and its adjoining areas.

“There is an upper air cyclonic circulation covering 0.9 Km developed over eastern Bihar and parts adjoining Jharkhand. However, the system seems to be feeble due to the unavailability of moisture in the atmosphere. Moreover, chances of rainfall is very weak according to the current predictions, though there is a cloud cover in eastern districts of the state but it will not bring rainfall,” informed, Forecast officer of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Ranchi observatory, Upendra Srivastava.
Notably, looking at the present condition, the district administration too has changed the school timing of both government and private schools. No schools in the city can operate beyond 12:30 PM as prescribed in the circular.
Severe rise in temperature has also triggered a water crisis problem across the state including the state capital as the ground water level has been severely affected.
The spooling summer is keeping the residents indoor keeping the busiest streets of the city hushed especially during afternoon.
Doctors have advised commuters to avoid travelling during the day and in case of urgency, pedestrians must cover their faces while travelling.
