The Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday reserved its order on the case involving candidates selected through the Fifth Combined Civil Services Examination conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and those alleging foul play in the recruitment process. A Division Bench of Chief Justice Virender Singh and Justice S Chandrashekher reserved its order to be announced in a couple of days.

“The court on Wednesday heard arguments of both the parties and reserved its order to be announced in a couple of days,” said former AG and senior HC counsel Anil Sinha pleading from the respondent’s side.

Sanjay kumar Piparwar, who also appeared for the respondent said the court had been apprised of the fact that 638 OMR sheets of 520 candidates. “We also said that only 84 OMR sheets of the 638 uploaded have been seen till date. The court said during the hearing that it cannot correct the technical errors in the OMR sheet,” said Piparwar.

“There were a number of cases combined in the matter and in one writ a petitioner had claimed that he was appealing on behalf of 520 candidates. Ironically, the petitioner had just 15 OMR sheets. So we contended how he could appeal on behalf of 520 candidates,” he added.

Earlier, the Jharkhand High Court on March 16 had put the appointment of 269 successful candidates of Jharkhand Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination on hold.

The court had also clubbed the three cases – PIl filed by PK Siddhartha, writ of Avadh Kishore Mehra and three others challenging rejection of their OMR sheets and lPA of Vivek Kumar Singh seeking his appointment under blind category in the matter.
