Jharkhand High Court on Friday dismissed the petition filed by Dewan Indraneel Sinha slapping a fine of Rs 50,000 on the petitioner. Singh had initiated a PIl in July this year against Soren and his other family members and aides requesting investigation into the matter.
A division bench of Chief Justice R Banumathi and Justice DN Patel rejected the PIl saying the petition was filed with malafide intentions after Soren became Chief Minister.
“The court said that appropriate procedure was not followed in the case; the petitioner should have first approached the Election Commission and register his complaint there before coming here,” said petitioner’s advocate Rajiv Kumar. A PIl was filed against Soren, his family members and aides alleging them of amassing huge property across the country.
