HC quashes arrest warrant against Singhania brothers

PNS

City police found itself in a predicament after the Jharkhand High Court allowed the quashing petition filed by Singhania brothers, accused of attacking I-T sleuths on October 24, while the lower court granted permission to put a proclamation notice at their residence after police claimed that they have gone traceless.

Singhanias had challenged the warrant issued by the CJM court at the Jharkhand HC saying it was not justified.

“The Court of Justice RR Prasad allowed the application to quash the arrest warrant issued against Singhanias as the requisition given for the same was itself not justified. The police had submitted that the three brothers are absconding while they were fully co-operating the Income Tax officials during the survey,” said their counsel Advocate Rajendra Krishnan.
