In a move towards providing more facilities to passengers, two escalators were commissioned at Hatia Station on the concluding day of ‘Rail Humsafar Week’ here on Wednesday. The escalator service was inaugurated by Ranchi MP Ramtahal Chaudhary in presence of DRM Deepak Kashyap and Hatia MlA Naveen Jaiswal and several other officials of Railways.

Speaking on the occasion, Ranchi MP reiterated Ranchi-Ernakulam Train service would start soon. “Decks have been cleared for starting Ranchi-Ernakulam train as the Union Railway Minister himself has assured that all formalities in this regard have been fulfilled,” said Chaudhary.

The Minister also assured that pantry car would be made available to all long distance… so that the passengers did not have to wander here and there in the station for finding food for them.

lauding the Narendra Modi Government, Chaudhary said all demands lying pending for years during the last Government were gradually being cleared by this Government which was a good sign.

“Projects lying pending for years during the tenure of the last Government are being completed by Narendra Modi Government,” said Chaudhary. He also added efforts were being made to make Rajdhani Express run daily.

DRM Deepak Kashyap, while addressing mediapersons, said Ranchi and Hatia stations might get two lifts each for them. “It will make the journey easy for the physically challenged persons and senior citizens as it would be able to move on the station easily after lifts are installed in the stations,” said the DRM.

“As you all know Railways has been observing ‘Rail Humsafar Week’ during which I personally met the passengers, railway staff as well as our major clients like CCl and HINDAlCO and heard their problems and will try to sort them out,” the DRM added. As it was the concluding day of the week, the two escalators were commissioned by Ranchi MP for the passengers, DRM said.

Besides, DRM added, they were trying to make journey easier for the passengers by providing them more and more facilities like ultra-tech waiting room and air conditioned dormitories at Ranchi Railway Station.
