Tough weather, missing big hitting names and of course tight situation for their home team could not generate the desired enthusiasm among the cricket lovers of Ranchi.
Almost all the stands of JSCA were just half-filled in the want of the crowd.
It was also not business as usual for the villagers around the JSCA stadium in Durwa.
“I used to sell good amount of water and cold drinks previously but the situation is not the same this time.
How many people come to watch matches which are taking place quite frequently,” says Manoj Singh whose stall is opposite the South Gate.
Those who came were looking for some fireworks from Robin Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan, Gautam Gambhir, Jacques Kallis and Manoj Tiwary. “I am here just for Yuvraj and Pathan. All the hardship of mine would be met if I see some big sixes of them,” says Swati, who has painted KKR and PW on both of her cheeks. Her wishes would have been fulfilled when Yuvraj hit Sunil Narine for a maximum over mid-wicket. The cheer also came when the Pune Warrior posted 170 to chase down for KKR, a daunting task in hand.
