Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on Monday got a new acting Director. Professor (Dr) Shamim Haider, the Head of Preventive and Social Medicine (PSM) department was given the additional charge of the administrator while Medical Superintendent Dr Satyendra Kumar Choudhary was relived of the post. Choudhary’s work is now restricted to Medical Superintendent.
Dr Haider who took the charge today said he will first take stock of the situation prevailing at the medical cradle. “There is a difference between managing the hospital and academic departments. Within one or two days, I will be in a position to describe my priorities,” he told The Pioneer.
The proposal of the change was sanctioned by Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi cum Chairman of RIMS Administrative Council. Sources maintained Choudhary was probably called by the Health Department authorities during lunch break. The notification was then published by the Health department at the website of Information and Public Relations Department.
