Governor Ramesh Bais asked State legislators to be sensitive towards people’s issues during the 21st Foundation Day Programme at State Assembly on Monday. The Governor also asked the MLAs to keep the dignity of Assembly in mind and ensure that it doesn’t get tainted with any kind of behaviour.

“The people of the State have high expectations from the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly. Today's day is an occasion to express happiness on the achievements of the Legislative Assembly on one hand and on the other hand it is also an occasion to brainstorm and reflect on those shortcomings, policies and methods of work so that we can work even better and meet the needs of public interest. Be serious and sensitive towards their problems so that government policies and plans can be made accordingly,” he said.

“It is also necessary to take care of the debate in the House; it should be of high level, serious and should be done smoothly. The public not only listens seriously to the question raised by the MLA of their area, but is also curious to know what the government’s view on it is. This always needs to be kept in mind. Therefore, the members should ask questions in a better way so that proper answers are received from the government,” said the Governor.

Speaker of the Assembly, Rabindra Nath Mahto said that today is a day of joy. “This is also an opportunity to review for achieving the objectives of State formation along with saluting the agitators, who envisioned the formation of the State and irrigated this movement with their blood. The government is striving to achieve the objectives of inclusive development and State formation in Jharkhand. Work is being done for the benefit of the people of the State,” he said.

“We all live in the Legislative Assembly in the role of ruling party and opposition and contemplate the whole State within a single campus. Policy making is done with sour-sweet nuggets. Vidhan Sabha is such a mirror, where the face of the entire state is visible. Efforts are made to give direction to the State through the Legislative Assembly. We work in the role of pros and cons under the Constitutional system, whose ultimate goal is development and giving rights to the people of the State,” he added.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that various schemes have been implemented on the occasion of Jharkhand State Foundation Day. Work is being done to connect the needy with the schemes through your government's Aapke Dwar program. All the old people of Jharkhand, women with disabilities, abandoned women will be linked to Sarvajan Pension Yojana. Efforts are being made to complete this work by the completion of two years of the government. The government is working door-to-door to solve the problems, he said.

The CM said that players of Jharkhand bring laurels to the country and the world. The players here are being given jobs under direct recruitment. This work will continue indefinitely. Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Pardeshi Scholarship Scheme is being provided to the youth of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes for higher education. The government is supporting them in higher education by providing them 100 per cent scholarship. Everyone has a big or small role in the formation of the State. Let us together decide our role in taking the State forward with our respective responsibilities, he added.

Martyrs including Sunil Lakra (Havaldar), Duleshwar Prasad (Cons), Rabindra Kumar (BSF), Kiran Surin (Conservator), Rajesh Kumar, Deputy Commandant (STF), Devendra Kumar Pandit (Havildar, STF), Hardwar Sah (Constable, Jharkhand Jaguar), Oraon (SAP) were posthumously felicitated on the occasion.
