Having worked to bring JVM close to the ruling coalition, Congress leader and Minister in the Hemant Soren Government KN Tripathi has once again pitched for grand alliance to counter the BJP in Jharkhand.
When asked about the effort being made, Tripathi said, “It is needed in Jharkhand so that a strong Government can be in place and no blackmailing can take place.” Though, he clarified that the job to carve out any such alliance was for the party leaders to take care of. Tripahi has played part in the exercise and had talks with JVM chief Babulal Marandi which later got virtually refuted by the JMM.
Tripahi said that the issue of declaring drought in Palamau would be brought for discussion in the next Cabinet meeting after the Assembly panel recommended strongly for that.
