Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday held a discussion on Covid-19 situation through video conferencing with Ministers, MPs and MLAs of South Chotanagpur and Kolhan divisions and said that the Government will form a strategy based on the suggestions and inputs provided by the lawmakers.
“We managed to deal with the first wave of corona in a positive way. We are competing with the second wave and now there is a danger of the third wave coming. In such a situation, now is not the time to ignore the issues related to corona. The State Government is working with full vigour regarding how to control the corona and provide proper and better health facilities to the infected,” he said.
The CM said in rural areas, people still do not understand the danger of corona due to lack of awareness.
“There is confusion among people about vaccination and people are not willing to take the vaccine. People are also adopting an indifferent attitude towards the test. They are not following the Covid protocol in cremation of dead bodies. This makes people vulnerable to coronavirus infection. In such a situation, the Government is now working on preparing an action plan for investigation, treatment and vaccination of corona especially in rural areas. Under this, different means of publicity are being used to make people aware. All public representatives also have important responsibility in this. Explain to people how to avoid corona, only then we can effectively deal with Covid-19,” he said.
The CM said there will be no shortage of medicines in the rural areas. The government has instructed Corona Medical Kit to be delivered to people through the Anganwadi centers. So far, more than 45,000 Corona medical kits have been distributed.
Soren added he has been told by the Sainik Welfare Board that they are ready to give all possible help to the Government in dealing with Covid-19.
In this connection, 300 ex-Army men will serve as Corona Warriors. He also said that the epidemic has conveyed the needs of health-related infrastructure across the country.
He said the Government is aware of the shortage of doctors, nurses, mercury medical personnel and other manpower in hospitals. In this direction, if any retired doctor or other workers are willing to give their service, then they should inform about it.
The Government will take necessary initiatives in this direction to take their service. He also asked the MPs and MLAs that if they have such manpower in their contact, then make the information available to the Health Department.
The Chief Minister was apprised by MPs and MLAs that there are many misconceptions among the people regarding corona vaccination in rural areas.
They are afraid of getting vaccinated. He also said it is absolutely necessary to make people aware while identifying people who are creating confusion. The CM asked the MPs and MLAs to cooperate in spreading awareness about vaccination among the people. Take help of all organisations in this as well. Manki Munda, village heads should also be taken into confidence so that people themselves come forward for vaccination.
Soren also said that in the first wave of Corona, people in rural areas had tried to stop the entry of outsiders by barrier or other means, and will take the same initiative again. This will help break the corona chain.
