The State Government in the upcoming Budget Session is likely to bring a new recruitment policy, under which locals will get preference in government jobs. JMM general secretary cum party spokesperson, Supriyo Bhattacharyya said, “The State government in the next budget session is going to bring a new recruitment policy, under which third and fourth grade jobs will be reserved for locals. Residents of State, who are living in the State for years, will get preference in government jobs.”
The JMM leader also slammed former Chief Minister Raghubar Das for introducing a recruitment policy under which locals of 13 reserved districts were given preference in government jobs. Bhattacharyya said, “The BJP government by introducing such discriminatory recruitment policy opened the doors of outsiders especially those from (Bihar and Uttar Pradesh) in third and fourth grade government jobs in eleven unreserved districts. Due to government discriminatory policy in the recruitment policy formulated in 2016, candidates from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh got preference in teaching and police services in eleven unreserved districts.”
Recently the State government decided to roll back the 2016 recruitment policy as formulated by then Raghubar Das government. It may be recalled that Jharkhand High Court in September cancelled the recruitment of thousands of teachers and officials that was finalised on a 2016 policy providing 100 per cent reservation for local candidates living in 13 scheduled districts of the State, describing it as a violation of fundamental rights.
The court declared the policy null and void and scrapped the advertisement that was issued to announce the recruitment drive in 2016.
The then government headed by chief minister Raghubar Das had advertised for 17,572 vacancies of teachers in the state in 2016. Of these, the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has so far filled up about 9,000 posts in both scheduled and non-scheduled districts.
The JMM leader also slammed the NDA government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not resolving the agriculture crisis and not taking back three farm laws. These laws are -- The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act.
The JMM leader said that the Prime Minister has little concern for farmers as despite more than 75 days protest the centre is yet to take any decision on three farm laws roll back.
He said, “The farmers' protest has become the biggest movement after 1974 against the government.” The JMM leader also condemned the Prime Minister for ridiculing farmers' protest as Andolanjivi.
