The lack of basic amenities like toilets, electricity and drinking water in Government Girls Middle School is causing problems for students and teachers. Schooling in such conditions has almost become impossible for the students and teachers.
However, their woes are not limited to the lack of toilets, power and water. The eight-room complex just has three rooms for 170 children. Out of eight, two rooms have been allotted to Kendriya Vidyalaya while three rooms have been locked by the DSE office. It is to be noted that the school is situated near DC’s residence.
Girls skip attending to nature’s calls, while the boys use the open grounds. Since, there is no facility of drinking water in the school, few students are sent to the officers quarter premises to fetch water in plastic bottles.
“Drinking water facility is not available in the school since last three years. I have written several times to the department for drinking water facility, but to no avail,” a teacher said.
When contacted the District Education office, Arbind Kumar said that the office has no knowledge about the problem. They will look in to the problem and will try to resolve the situation soon.
