Disastrous inferno at coal lines of Jharia caught attention of the House when MlAs from the coal belt raised the issue of leaping calamity. Jharia MlA Sanjeev Singh alleged that BCCl is deliberately and falsely reporting about fire and taking insufficient and erroneous measures to stop the fire which is eating up the mineral in a big way. “The BCCl is working on its agenda to make Jharia an island by planning to displace RSP College, MADA reservoir and Jharia-Sindri road and other settlements.
They are doing this by their whims and fancy and a high-level probe should be ordered into the matter so that actual picture comes out,” said Sanjeev Singh. Replying to this, Minister CP Singh assured that a high-level meeting comprising chairman of Coal India limited would be convened to find out solution to the problem and unearth the actual situation. “Controlling fire is also a concern and the meeting would look into this along with the issue of displacement,” said the Minister.
