Govt failed on every front: Hemant Soren

PNS

Congratulating the BJP lead NDA Government for completing two years in office, leader of Opposition Hemant Soren on Wednesday said that this Government has failed on every front, be it law and order, education or farming. Soren said that the rape and murder of a B-Tech student in her house, gang war in court compounds of Hazaribagh and Jamshedpur, murder of an engineer in front of CM house are some of the incidents which depict the failure of this Government on law and order front.

“Out of the total murders in the Country in the year 2015, 25 per cent of them were committed in Jharkhand only which is all time high since the State came into being in the year 2000. Jharkhand has also slipped to 21st position in terms of law and order in this Country,” said Soren. As many as 1606 cases of murders and 1,211 cases of rape were registered in various police stations in the year 2015, he said.

The data was not prepared by the party, but were provided by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) and the Government still claims that they have succeeded in maintaining the law and order, he added.

Soren further questioned as to how a Government could celebrate two years in office as ‘Vikas Parva’ with such increasing cases of murder and rape. “They however, are trying to cover their failures with loads of advertisements,” said Soren.

Not only in the field of law and order, but the State has also slipped to seventh position from third position in Ease of Doing Business and there was also a regular fall in the Industrial Production Index (IPI), he said.

“Not a single coal mine in the state has been able to start production after the auctioning and iron ore mines are still shut down. There is also a fall in the manufacturing sector and production of electricity in the state. In such circumstances, the Chief Minister who seems to be unaware of everything was busy in travelling from one Country to another,” said the former Chief Minister. The investors will never come to this State unless proper security is guaranteed to them, he said.

Soren further said that even the vacancies for which appointment letters were proudly distributed by Chief Minister Raghubar Das were created by the last government, he added.

Soren also questioned this Government that why the Cabinet was not completed till date by filling up the one vacant birth giving way to political corruption. “Was it not contempt to the ConstitutionIJ” he said.

Soren also raised several questions to this Government including why Human Rights Commission was not made active in this State, why the post of lokayukta was vacant so far, why construction of AIIMS could not be started so far, why the three police firing incidents were not handed over independent agencies, under what circumstances five mining secretaries were changed within five years and why no action was taken against the senior police officials involved in political activities etc.
