Govt asked to define policy of domicile

PNS

Senior BJP leader and former deputy Chief Minister Raghuwar Das has asked the State Government to define domicile policy in stipulated time to ensure that local people get grade III and IV Government jobs.

Addressing the media he alleged that the JMM and other regional parties did not want to address issues concerning domicile policy and want to keep their vote bank politics alive. He said that every person residing in the State after the creation of Jharkhand belonged to the State and must get all the facilities as per the law of the land.

He said that the very foundation of the Government was based on the mistrust and people did not expect much from the ruling parties. He added that the Government had been formed for mutual benefits and had nothing to do with the welfare of the State. Das also came down heavily upon Jharkhand Vikas Morcha chief Babulal Marandi for diving the society. He makes claim of morality and his own party was second fiddle to Congress which was responsible for unbridled corruption and uncontrolled price rise in the country,” noted the legislature from Jamshedpur East.

During the Press meet Das said he had recently met Tata Steel managing director TV Narendran over issues concerning the Steel City. Following Jharkhand High Court judgment ordering Tata Steel and its wholly owned subsidiary, Jusco, to give water and power connections to 106 slums — 86 under Schedule V of Tata lease, the BJP leader demanded that the company must start providing civic amenities.

Das said that during the meeting Tata Steel had assured him of initiating exercise for providing civic amenities by February 2014. “The discussions with the MD were fruitful and he has assured of major initiatives to ease traffic movement in the city. He said that Tata Steel requires from go-ahead from government for flyovers and things will improve in days to come,” said Raghuwar.

Patron of Bustee Vikas Samiti Das said that the court’s decision was victory of the people and they would make sure that the corporate house follows the decision. The Bustee Vikas Samity, an organisation fighting for the cause of the slum dwellers, which has been demanding ownership rights of the slums, has welcomed the decision.
