State Government has started searching partner to run Eastern India’s State-of-Art Yoga Centre inaugurated by Chief Minister (CM) Raghubar Das at East Jail Road on the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21. The centre is to function through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

Principal Secretary of Health department K Vidyasagar informed that a letter has been sent to Bihar Yoga Centre, Munger for the purpose. He said, “We have sent a letter to Munger School about running the center. The reply is awaited.”

Stating more about the Munger Centre, Dr Ravindra Rai, Nodal Officer at State Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) Cell said the Munger Centre is managed by Swami Nirajananda Saraswati.

He further added that the framework of the PPP model is under process. “A meeting related to the centre was called by Health Principal Secretary K Vidyasagar on June 25. We are working on preparing the advertisement inviting interested partner for the management. It will soon be published in newspapers,” he said. The two storey building constructed at a cost of around `3.5 crore in an area of 18,000 square feet is surrounded by designed boundary walls. Tall Blackberry, Mango and Peepal trees maintained by the Forest Department in this location are seen standing in front of the building.

To uphold a serene ambience while performing the yogasanas and meditation, builders have made the building in accordance with Vastu-Shastra. Tiles are laid in and around the building for a glossy look. It has two lobbies equipped with colourful lights and four halls equipped with air-conditioners and fans. Two halls are for women while the other two halls are for men. Also, there are separate changing rooms and toilets for men and women.

Das on the inaugural day had stressed on roping in experts and deserving people for better yoga training and education. He suggested using lakes on two sides of the centre for boating purpose.
