Travel agents confirm that a good number of city residents have made their way for costal states this winter vacation. Manager of a travel agency Purushottam Kumar said, “The climatic condition of Goa and Puri remains pleasant during this season as compared to other tourist places. Families who plan for long holiday trip prefer Goa and its adjoining areas.”
He further added that the booking for this New Year is less than last year, though he hoped that the number will increase as there was some time left for some last minute holiday makers.
With festive season underway, travel agents are offering discount in train ticket and air ticket fares and accommodation that would suit everyone budget. “Goa is a preferred destination as the package starts for Rs15,000 per couple for four days and three nights. For families of five members the package is of Rs35,000, which include the luxury of staying in a cottage on the beach and delicious food,” added Owner of another travel agency Kamal Jain. Puri is picking up the interest of those families who are planning for a short vacation. Besides beaches, historic antiquities, religious sanctuaries, and architectural grandeur are the wealth of attraction for the visitors. “In just Rs 8,000 a couple can travel this place for three days and two nights. The booking for this place remains the same as previous year,” said Jain.
Meanwhile, this winter city newly wedded couples have also picked up either of these two place for their honeymoon. Neeraj Kumar who got married few days ago said, “I am going to Puri for my honeymoon. Its sea scape beauties and moderate pleasant climate make me choose this place as my better half is fond of beaches and natural beauty and other bigger reason is it is economical for me.”
