Gita’s Teachings at Yogoda Satsanga Ashram

PNS

Swami Pragyanananda delivered an insightful discourse at the Yogoda Satsanga Ashram in Ranchi, highlighting the profound teachings of the Bhagavad Gita’s eighth chapter. Addressing a gathering of devoted followers, he emphasized the significance of spiritual remembrance in one’s final moments.

Drawing from Lord Krishna’s words in the Gita, Swami Pragyanananda explained that the one who recalls God while departing from this world attains His divine form. However, he cautioned that such remembrance requires deep spiritual discipline and is not easily achieved. “One’s actions alone shape their destiny,” he stated, underscoring the role of karma in determining an individual’s spiritual journey.

Elaborating on the essence of Brahman, spirituality, and karma, the revered swami cited verses from the Gita and insights from Paramahansa Yogananda to simplify these concepts for the audience. He explained that Brahman is none other than the supreme and eternal syllable Om—a force that embodies *truth, consciousness, and bliss*, permeating all existence. He reiterated Krishna’s teaching that the soul itself is spirituality and that renunciation leading to creation is karma.

Swami Pragyanananda further conveyed the significance of chanting Om at the time of passing, stating that such devotion liberates one from the cycle of birth and death, leading to ultimate salvation. He described God as omniscient, subtler than the subtlest, and beyond all darkness. “Those who take refuge in Him need not be reborn—they attain supreme perfection,” he affirmed.

The discourse left a deep impact on attendees, reinforcing the Gita’s timeless wisdom and inspiring many to embrace spiritual remembrance in their daily lives.
