The status of schools in Garhwa districts in terms of their participation in the Central Government’s Swachhh Vidyalay Abhiyan seem to be poor. So much so that only 214 out of 1530 primary and middle schools in the district have so far registered themselves for the Clean School Award 2017-18 online.
Following the instruction of the Central Government, all the government schools have to uploade online report on the website under Clean School Award 2017-18. Several meetings have taken place and a sistrict level workshop was also organised. The last date for uploading the data is October 30 but till now only 214 schools have submitted their data on website out of the 1530 schools.
Notably, under the Clean School Award 2017-18, all the schools have to upload the school photograph, data related to toilet cleanliness status, white washing condition, child behaviour, disposal of waste etc. On the basis of sanitation status of schools they will be given status of Green, yellow, Red status. But in the district teachers are seen to be inactive for this important direction.
Only 214 schools have submitted their data, out of which only 124 schools have drinking water, while 114 schools have toilet facilities and 111 schools have hand washing facilities and 106 schools have found the right behavior, but only 59 schools have uploaded related photos on it.
