Active caseload in Ranchi came under 1,000-mark in relief that cases of corona are declining day by day. In Ranchi, the active cases touched 1,277 on January 1 when the third wave of Covid-19 was picking up, but on Sunday the active cases in Ranchi were 839. Across the State, the active cases were recorded to 2,616.

The speed of the third wave of Covid-19 has stopped in Jharkhand. Things seem to be getting better.  While in Ranchi the active cases are 839 there are eleven districts where active cases are below 50. The district which is having the least active cases is Jamtara. The eleven districts where active cases are below fifty are Palamu 48, Garhwa 46, Lohardaga 35, Khunti 34, Latehar 30, Gumla 29, Pakur 28, Sahibganj 20, Godda 19, Ramgarh 16, Jamtara 11.

As per experts the effect of the new variant of coronavirus was less because most people have been vaccinated. As per health department figures, 96 per cent of the population who are 18 years of age have got the first dose of vaccines while 61 per cent have been fully vaccinated.

Those who took the vaccine came under the grip of corona, but the level of infection was not as high. At the same time, the government is further protecting the front line workers and those with comorbidities by giving booster doses. Significantly, the effect of the third wave of Corona remained in Jharkhand in the second week of January.

The corona infection started spreading rapidly, but in a few days the situation started improving. However, critical care experts say that even after the situation of corona is better, people will have to follow the guideline, because even now the corona is not completely over.

As fresh cases and active cases are declining day-by-day, it is visible at government as well as private hospitals too.  The number of infected persons at government hospitals has reduced. In RIMS, out of the reserved beds of 250 beds, only 25 beds are occupied by patients who are infected with corona. At the same time, there is not a single corona patient admitted in Sadar Hospital. Apart from this, private hospitals have reduced beds in view of the decrease in the number of fresh corona cases. There is not a single infected person admitted at private hospitals. According to the Health Department, out of 3055 infected in the state on February 5, 2831 are asymptomatic and 224 are asymptomatic.
