On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, Flag Foundation of India will commemorate the principles of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, by organising a ‘Sadbhavna Sandhya — Mahatma Ke Path Par’ programme at the India gate lawns in New Delhi. The details of the event were mentioned in a press communiqué issued by JSPl.
The Flag Foundation of India was set up as a registered society under the society’s registration act of 1980, a non-profit body in January 2002. As part of the ‘Sadbhavna Sandhya- Mahatma Ke Path Par’, thousands of people across the country will be invited to join in to observe a one minute silence to honour the great Mahatma, who sacrificed his life for the nation’s freedom struggle. Thousands of people from all walks of life are likely to join hands to form a human chain and chant ‘Raghupati Raghav’ remembering the Father of the Nation and the Gandhian values, said a press communiqué from JSPl.
The foundation will also organise a concert which will mark the culmination of the Flag Week Celebration organised by the Foundation on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the historic judgement by the Supreme Court on January 23, 2004, to a PIl filed by Naveen Jindal, which stated that hoisting the National Flag is a fundamental right of the citizens of the country.
