Status of documents at Ranchi University (RU) can now be seen with a computer click. Ramesh Kumar Pandey, the Vice Chancellor or RU inaugurated the File Tracking System on Monday, through which he and his section officers can know where a particular file is pending. As of now, employee IDs and passwords of a handful of administration officers has been generated in order to search and process documents. In the coming days, it could also be accessed by staffs at clerical level.
“I have been mulling to start the software based system since the first day of my joining as VC around three months back. It will certainly help us in managing the files at a fast mode with transparency,” Pandey said. The tracking software has been developed by Synchronous IT labs Private limited. Imran Jawed, Director of the agency said, “The software was being developed for past six months with the support of CCDC PK Singh. VC Ramesh Kumar Pandey on the first day of his joining had welcomed the effort.”
Similar digital facilities will be launched for students as well Pandey said, “We hope to start computerised method for students. They can register and access the official formalities till the publication of results.” Sources at the university informed that the recent and backlog documents of RU administration is being uploaded in the File Tracking System. “Today it was basically a demonstration for us. It will take few days to upload all kinds of manual files,” said a Senior University Official.
The computer system may delay the processing of files related to finance. Pandey said it would be due to the necessity of calculations. Meanwhile, Ranchi University is all set to declare the results of Under Graduation before time. VC RK Pandey approved the formalities required for the results on Monday.
