If there are people who are dissuading others from taking the jab there are of course fewer people also who are ferrying the poor and the rich as well to and from the vaccination site for the jab in Palamu.
Arvind Kumar is a former panchayat sachiv of Sehra village under the Lesliganj police station. He ferries people to the vaccination site and reaches them home also all free and with no obligatory tone.
Civil surgeon Palamu Anil Kumar Srivastav said he met this man only this Sunday during his whirlwind tour of the vaccination sites and was too impressed to see poor coming out of Arvind Kumar’s car at the site for the jab. Srivastav said this man has made it a mission to have his panchayat well vaccinated. Civil surgeon said this man deserves our all admiration. Rajesh Kumar Sah SDO Sadar said it is only few who voice against the vaccination and the rest just join the chorus of hesitancy. The SDO said he had an evening sitting with people of Jhaber on this vaccination issue where there was palpable reluctance to the vaccination.
He said he worked hard here and as a start got 10 people here vaccinated where it should have been a far large number than this. The SDO said people have with them variety of fake information about vaccination and when asked to explain as to from where they have this stock of false and damaging information regarding vaccination they just look under their sleeves!
He reiterated that he was pursuing the cause of vaccination with feverish pitch but when he confronts the ice cold approach to the vaccination he feels thoroughly disappointed.
Asked how to instil confidence of people in the vaccination he said ‘ through massive awareness’.
Sources said once the districts of Jharkhand come out with their death audit there would be a far more anxiety with regard to the vaccination and its effects and it may further restrict the pace of the vaccination.
