The examinees of 11 B.Ed. colleges of Vinoba Bhave University are sitting on indefinite fast cum Dharna agitation since September 6. The students of 2014-15 sessions whose exam has already been taken by the university some 8 months ago and results has not been published yet. They are demanding publication of their result. Yesterday they started their agitation with support of NSUI and today many more student organisations like JCM, JVCM, SFI etc. and political leaders came forward in support of the agitating students.

This matter is related with both the State Government and VBU administration. The affiliation of these 11 colleges for session 2014-15 was first given by VBU but after sometimes it was withdrawn as per the direction of HRD ministry. The students took admission after checking the affiliation letter and NCTEs approval letter. When the time of filling up of examination form came then the letter of withdrawal of affiliation for session 2014-15 came into light. The matter went to high court and as per courts order exam was taken.

About six months ago VBU published the result of this session but with held the result of 13 such colleges. University administration says that without ministries approval they cannot do anything and ministry has cleared the cases of only two colleges since last six months. In the mean time vacancies of teachers and advertisements of TET exam has came out in Bihar and Jharkhand in which these 1100 students will not be eligible because their result has not been published.

On Tuesday VC Professor Gurdeep Singh and today DC Ravishankar Shukla, MlA Manoj Kumar Yadav, JDU leader Bateshwar Prasad Mehta and others met with the agitating students but they all felt themselves unable to solve the crisis. MlA Manoj Kumar Yadav has assured them to talk with the minister and officials of the ministry and has also announced that if justice has not been done with them then he will himself lead the students in locking the university in their next phase of agitation
