It’s astounding that Ranchi stores still hold tickets for Indian Premier league (IPl)! Initially, when the IPl tickets was released into Ranchi great fervour was visible in the city, but now it seems as if IPl spirit has come down among Ranchities.
Despite the fact, that it is only two more days to go for the Match between Kolkota knight Riders and Royal Challengers in HTC International cricket stadium, none of the ticket retail outlets in Ranchi seems finished with IPl ticket sale. Rather, the ticket outlets in Ranchi Still hold tickets worth denomination Rs3500 and few worth Rs2000. The ticket counters at Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) are also still open and only tickets in higher denominations are available. Apart from this it’s also noticed that only few number people are going to JSCA to buy the tickets.
Other thing that is noticeable among people is that despite the remaning tickets in larger denominations, people are still looking for tickets of Rs700 and Rs1500. Higher price of IPl tickets seems restraining the IPl craze in Ranchi.
“lower denomination tickets worth Rs700, Rs1500 and Rs2000 are sold out and tickets worth Rs3500 are only available at all our stores in Ranchi,” said Sachin of mobile store outlet, Hari Om tower.
Talking to The pioneer Sachin added, “Despite the tickets still left, initial rush for ticket is no more visible among the people and few people who come for tickets seek for lower price tickets.”
It is also apparent that the touts, who had initially bought tickets in large number are also selling tickets, which has brought down the sale of higher price tickets in Retail outlets Ranchi.
“Still the people are coming for IPl tickets but the intensity of tickets sale is less in retail outlets, and it is sure that some might be selling the tickets in black with Rs200 to 300 more than the retail for those unavailable lower denomination tickets ,” Said, Dinesh of Café Coffee Day.
However, the still available tickets at IPl ticket outlet shows less IPl vigor in Ranchi as compared to other States.
