Family Court in Daltonganj saves families on the rocks

PNS

Family Court in Daltonganj is saving many families from going astray.

Sources said many such families are saved from further disintegration.

The Family Court Daltonganj has more than 400 cases now which is a strong indicator of families reposing their faith in this court for amicable settlement of the domestic discord or family disharmony.

Principal Judge Family Court Daltonganj Sandeep Srivastava has become a household name here as in cases where he has re united and rejoined the warring husband and wife together the couple  never misses any single opportunity to tell others as to who has saved their family from an imminent break up.

Principal Judge (PJ) Srivastava told the Pioneer on Tuesday February 16 that the Family Court has more than 400 cases  out of which more than 200 cases are of Maintenance matter.  PJ Srivastava added further that Maintenance cases outnumber other cases related to family discord.

Asked if elderly or lone father or mother or infirm parents knock at this court for maintenance from their sons pat came the response from PJ Srivastava ‘  We do not have such complaints coming from infirm father or mother against their son for maintenance’ He said the family bond is still firm here on this count.

The Pioneer reminded the PJ of a case of legal guardianship settled amicably which was hanging fire over the last seven to eight years to which PJ Srivastava said ‘ There was an amicable settlement of a case related to legal guardianship which was definitely dragging on but finally it reached its logical conclusion on a very happy and confident note’.

About cases of Maintenance the literate or semi  literate do not lag behind.

PJ Srivastava said ‘ There are people all around who just provoke women ( read wives) to reach court for maintenance and here my first and utmost priority remains that within the ambit of law of the land the conflict of interest is amicably and lawfully resolved’.

PJ Srivastava cited a case where a woman did all for Maintenance wherein as the case went on unfolding the court learnt that the claim for Maintenance by the said woman was most outlandish as the man from whom she so wanted Maintenance was not her husband at all! The Principal Judge made it clear there is no legal provision for any Maintenance for a woman who has not the status of a wife by marriage.

Asked as to how he so brings the warring ones together PJ Srivastava said ‘  I as Principal Judge of Family Court here stand committed and determined to save any one from starvation, destitution and vagrancy and re uniting the families in conflict is the best way to help build a healthy society’.
