A free eye check-up camp was jointly organised by Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital, Red Cross Society and Aavaran Home Plus for handicapped children, orphans and elders on Sunday. The programme also saw participation from 14 non-government organisations from all over the city.
A total of 600 people attended the camp, out of which 310 were checked. 50 were needed eyeglasses, 5 were diagnosed with skewed eyes, 20 were found to be affected with allergy and infection, whereas 15 were suffering from cataract.
It was announced that those needing eyeglasses will be provided the same free of cost Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank. Those diagnosed with cataract will be operated on one after another in Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital.
