Security Council was held in XlRI for the first time. The delegates were given a chance to articulate their country’s stand (within 90 seconds) on the issue before the council. This was followed by two rounds of moderated caucus of 20 minutes each. A moderated caucus is a discussion on a specific sub-topic related to the theme.

After the moderated caucus, the delegates moved onto the un-moderated caucus. During an un-moderated caucus, the delegates are free to interact with one another and propose resolutions for the Council to act upon. This is an important part of the event as the delegate’s ability to negotiate, influence and assert his country’s stand and win the approval of the other countries was gauged. After the Un-moderated Caucus, the last round of the event was the passing of Resolution by means of Voting.
