Chairing a meeting at the collectorate in the State capital, Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan on Wednesday asked the concerned officials of all the 24 districts to ensure that the various beneficiaries supposed to attend the first anniversary ceremony of the government on December 29 reach the venue without any hassle and are allotted seats at the Morhabadi ground during the event, officials who attended the meeting said.
Ranchi Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Ananya Mittal said that all the districts have also been directed to inform the various beneficiaries about the programme on December 29 and ensure their presence in the event. “Concerned officials in all the districts have been asked to ensure safe and hassle-free transportation of the beneficiaries from their respective villages to the venue in Ranchi. We will also have to arrange for parking facilities for the vehicles that come from other districts,” said Mittal.
The DC also asked the officials present in the meeting to ensure that social distancing is maintained during the event. The chairs, he said, should be placed at a safe distance from each other so that the event does not lead to transmission of the Covid-19 virus. Besides, thermal scanners will be made available at all the entry points to the venue to measure the body temperature of guests and beneficiaries entering the venue.
The first anniversary ceremony of the Hemant Soren-led government will be held at Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi, and special traffic routes will also be planned in order to avoid traffic congestion. Sources said that nearly 1000 vehicles, including buses, are likely to reach Morhabadi for the ceremony.
The government is set to launch more than 20 schemes on December 29 and also felicitate the beneficiaries of various schemes during the event at Morhabadi. As per a document shared by an official from the CMO, the Chief Minister will launch Mukya Mantri Pasudhan Yojana aimed at increasing the income of farmers on December 29. Besides, the government will launch Jharkhand Sports Policy 2020 and Jharkhand State Tourism Policy 2020 on its first anniversary.
At least two of the initiatives announced by the government on December 29 will aim at providing employment. In a bid to support sportspersons financially and encourage youths to take up sports, the JMM-led government plans to provide direct employment to eligible sportspersons, the document from CMO highlighted. Under the Home Department, the government also aims to provide direct employment to the descendants of the martyrs of Jharkhand Movement in the state, the document further stated.
The Jharkhand Universal Pension Scheme, as the government calls it, will entitle beneficiaries for pension even if they are not below the poverty line or from the SC or ST community.
