Jharkhand Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto is all set to fulfill his promise of presenting the State toppers of class X and XII of the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) with brand new Alto cars on September 23 on the Jharkhand Assembly premises.
“This award (Alto cars) is for the meritorious students who have scored maximum marks and secured the top position in the matriculate and intermediate examination. #ON_23_09_20, Wednesday on the birth anniversary of Late Binod Bihari Mahto,” tweeted the Minister on Sunday evening.
Manish Kumar Katiyar, a student of Netarhat Residential High School, who scored 490 marks out of a total of 500 is the class X topper while Amit Kumar of SRSSR High School Giridih is the intermediate topper. Kumar- a student of Science scored 457 marks out of 500 and has been declared as the overall top scorer from the three streams- Science, Arts and Commerce.
The Minister had announced giving cars to the toppers in July while declaring the JAC class X and XII results but the board had not declared the names of the top scorers at that time.
“The names of the toppers have been declared after a thorough scrutiny of the examination copies, hence the delay. This was done to ensure that there are no mistakes. An initiative of this kind by the Education Minister is welcome. This award will urge the future students to study hard and become top scorers,” said JAC Chairperson Arvind Prasad Singh.
