PNS

Central probe agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) noose is continuously tightening in the army land scam and Cheshire Home land. The ED in this connection today interrogated businessman Vishnu Agarwal. ED had called him for questioning at 10.30 am. The Central Probe agency has also called a medical team as earlier Agarwal has sought time for appearance before the ED citing his poor health condition.

As per ED investigation it has come to fore that Agarwal received illegal favour from former Deputy Commissioner from Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan in the sale and purchase of army land at Bariatu. The ED has come to know that real estate businessman Vishnu Kumar Agarwal planned and got Chhavi Ranjan’s Goa tour done. He arranged for their accommodation and food at Taj Fort Aguada in Goa. For this, Vishnu Kumar Aggarwal paid in cash through his employee to a travel agent in Delhi. This has been revealed by the ED from the data of the seized mobile of Vishnu Kumar Aggarwal, whose forensic analysis has revealed these facts.

On the verbal orders of the then DC Chhavi Ranjan of Ranchi, the mutation of one acre of disputed land on Cheshire Home Road was done by Manoj Kumar, the then Zonal Officer of Bargain, in the name of Vishnu Agarwal and his wife Anushree Agarwal.

In the investigation of ED, it was found that there was a deep connection between Vishnu Aggarwal and Chhavi Ranjan. Chhavi Ranjan had given Vishnu Aggarwal illegal possession of the non-purchasable land at Pugadu in Namkum Mauza. Through the state government, there was an order to investigate the matter of this land as well.

Meanwhile, in another development, Enforcement Directorate (ED) today issued summons to Birsa Munda Jail superintendent Hamid Akhtar and advocate Himanshu Mehta. Akhtar was called on June 26 while Mehta on June 28 at the probe agency’s regional office in Doranda in the state capital.

The ED is expected to question Akhtar for his decision of giving undue favour to jailed ED accused including IAS officers Pooja Singhal and Chhavi Ranjan besides power broker Prem Prakash, Kolkata businessman Amit Agarwal, MLA representative to CM Hemant Soren, Pankaj Mishra and others.

After the latest revelations of Chhavi Ranjan and Prem Prakash meeting in jail, the ED has decided to summon Akhtar. Prem Prakash had met Chhavi Ranjan in the evening in the jail. The ED has mentioned the jail meeting of Chhavi Ranjan and Prem Prakash in the charge sheet against Chhavi Ranjan, Amit Agarwal and others. That the two accused are illegally meeting inside a high-security prison clearly shows that the conspiracy is still going on.
