Ahead of Durga Puja, a Peace Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of President Mukhiya Sangh, SB Singh at Bokaro Thermal police station premises on Tuesday evening.
In the meeting, the Inspector cum Officer-in Charge Prameshwar Leyangi said the police administration is keeping an eye on the posts on the social media as well. The posts which distort social and communal harmony will be taken to task. Durga Puja is to be celebrated in a peaceful manner . It is the responsibility of the local Puja Committee to keep complete discipline. In case of any unpleasant incident, the Puja Committees and locals should immediately inform the police, the Officer-in Charge said.
The local mukhia SB Singh appealed to the people to celebrate Durga Puja festival with peace and harmony.
Officer in-Charge Prameshwar Leyangi told the members of the Puja committees to apply for license from their respective police stations. If any member of any puja pandal is seen blocking vehicles running on the road or seeking a donation forcibly, legal action will be taken against them, the officer said.Those who attended the meeting include Yogendra Giri,Janki Mahto,Sujait Hussain,Moti Mahto,Dasrath Mahto and others.
