Under the campaign, campaign vehicles will go to all the districts, awareness programs will be run in schools and colleges. Action has been taken to prevent opium cultivation in various districts of Jharkhand, especially Ranchi, Khunti. He said that it is very important to stop the abuse of prohibited drugs. Our efforts are continuing and we have succeeded in stopping it to a large extent, but our goal is to completely eliminate opium cultivation. Opium cultivation has been destroyed on a large scale, this is the achievement of the government. Drug addiction is ruining people socially, mentally and economically.

Dr Irfan Ansari said that CCTV has been provided in more than 4,000 stores out of 10,134 medical stores in the state, the process of installing it in the remaining is underway. Most of the youth in Jharkhand are in the grip of drug addiction. We have to get the people of Jharkhand out of the grip of drug addiction. He told about the ill effects of eating gutkha. Along with this, 6 new medical colleges and 2 testing labs will also be opened here, so that the people here do not have to worry about getting treatment outside. He said that drug addiction is the root of all diseases, youth are ruining their lives by falling into the trap of drug addiction at a young age. We have to make them aware. This is not just a 14-day program, but this program should run throughout the year. Media is requested to focus on the awareness campaign and also make people aware.

Additional Chief Secretary Ajoy Kumar said that drug abuse has spread throughout the society. The youth have become addicted to its consumption. It is spreading in the society like cancer, yet we are not able to talk about it openly. We have to tell people about its ill effects. We have to explain to those youth and children through public awareness and not through sticks. We need to work in this direction from the high school level itself. Awareness campaign has to be run among children and youth of young age.

He said that through this workshop, information will be given on how to work to prevent drug addiction. In big cities like Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Palamu, Bokaro etc., the drug business is increasing, there is a need to break their network. Which is not possible only at the police station level, there is a need to work on this at the district and headquarters level. Media also has an important role in this so that the faces of such people can be exposed, who are involved in the drug business.

He said that information will be given about the law regarding drugs, under what circumstances you will be given drugs from the drug store. Currently, there is a plan to install CCTV in the drug stores. Soon the department will prepare a portal in which information about all the regulated drugs will be included. He said that in the coming time, workshops will also be organized at the district and block level.

Home Department Principal Secretary Vandana Dadel said that we are all familiar with the problem of misuse of prohibited drugs in Jharkhand. By getting addicted to drugs, people start facing problems like financial stress, domestic violence, etc. Not only this, they also get involved in criminal activities, which poses a challenge for society and law and order. Its consumption is seen more among the youth, we have to talk openly about this. We all need to come together and uproot this problem. She said that opium cultivation is mainly done in Khunti, Ranchi, Latehar and other districts of Jharkhand, this year five times more destruction has been done due to the efforts of the administration. It is because of determination that we have achieved such a big success. All the departments will have to work together in this area. Awareness campaigns will be conducted by the Education Department in schools, Sports Department in sports training centers and also in tourist centers.
