DPS, Ranchi holds Annual Function

PNS

DPS Ranchi (Class VI-VIII) celebrated its Annual Function on Friday. The Chief Guest of the function was Lokayukt Jharkhand, Justice (retd) DN Upadhyay. Chairman, Commercial Taxes Tribunal, Sanjay Prasad, was the Guest of Honour in the ceremony.

With unprecedented fanfare and a myriad of hues annual extravaganza ‘PRAMA : The Knowledge of Truth’ was brought alive by the 400 students. The students performed the four dance forms from four corners of the world namely Kalinka, Belly, Samba and Gujarati. The dance forms preached the value of ONENESS despite the different races, cultures, political ideologies and beliefs.

The adaptation of the Play- Ashtavakra delineated the life of a revered Vedic sage whose name literally means "eight bends", reflecting the eight physical handicaps he was born with. A?h?avakra, author of the Ashtavakra Gita focuses on achieving the self-realisation, metaphysical nature of existence and the individual freedom. It believes in only one Supreme Reality (Brahman), the entirety of universe is oneness and manifestation of this reality, everything is interconnected, all Self (Atman, soul) are part of that one, and that individual freedom is not the end point but a given, a starting point, innate.

Chief Guest Justice DN Upadhyay complimented the students for their laudable and praiseworthy presentation. He was visibly impressed by the impeccable performance showcased by the students.  He also mentioned about ‘Deeptabh’ an important contribution by DPS Ranchi.
