The strong room in which the documents related to 2019 Baghmara Assembly election were sent to the High court in sealed boxes in the presence of the contestants .
The strong room was opened on directive of theJharkhand High Court on the petition of congress candidate Jaleshwar Mahto who has challenged the election of sitting BJP MLA Dhallu Mahto.
Jaleshwar Mahto was defeated by margin of 812 votes and he has challenged the victory claiming mischief during counting of votes of polling booth no 334, 305, 181, 243, 290 and 254. Besides, votes of one EVM of booth no 266 were not counted due to technical snag.
The strong room was opened in the presence of representatives of both candidates.
DDC SP Singh was present while opening the strong room. All documents would be sent to High court under sealed boxes so that those may be handed over to High court on July 20 the next date of hearing.
