Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday asked people that the second wave of Corona is proving to be very effective. “A little carelessness in it can increase the risk significantly. In such a situation, do not take Corona lightly. No effective treatment of this disease has been possible so far. In such a situation, people should use masks and follow a distance of two yards to avoid the risk of infection. Health Safety Week is being observed from April 22 to April 29 to break the corona chain. The State's people should follow this and cooperate with the government,” he said.
Treatment of corona infects will start soon in the TB sanatorium at Itki, Ranchi. In this connection, The CM inspected the facilities available there on Friday. The CM said that in the second wave of Covid-19, the number of patients is increasing very fast. But according to that, facilities in hospitals here are falling short. Especially the lack of oxygen-rich beds, oxygen cylinders, ventilators and ICUs is seen most. In such a situation, the entire effort of the government is to increase the number of beds and maintain oxygen supply normal. In view of this, Itki TB sanatorium will also be provided with beds and manpower, ensuring availability of oxygen and other medical resources so that Covid-19 can be used as a hospital. The CM inspected the General Ward, Lab and OPD at the sanatorium.
The CM said that the government is constantly making efforts to increase beds in various hospitals. So far, 9098 beds have been increased in the entire State. The government will make all the necessary arrangements for the treatment of about 500 corona infected. He also said that six districts of the State including Ranchi are the most affected by Covid-19.
With this, patients are coming continuously from other districts also for better treatment in Ranchi. Due to this, the pressure of patients in various hospitals here has increased significantly. They are finding it difficult to provide oxygen-rich beds. Because of this, the health facilities are being expanded there by making circuits of the districts, so that the patients can get better treatment in their own district.
The CM said that in this era of crisis, the State Government is making every possible effort to provide the best medical facilities to Covid patients despite limited resources. In this regard, beds, oxygen, ventilators, medicines and other necessary medical facilities are being continuously increased for patients. He also said that the way records number of people are getting infected, arranging beds for all is a big challenge. In such a situation, the common infected can get rid of corona by staying in isolation in their home. The government is also taking steps to take better care of the infected people living in isolation.
Itki TB Sanatorium Superintendent Dr. Ranjit Prasad informed the Chief Minister about the facilities available here. He told that there are a total of 104 beds in the normal ward here, while the number of cottages is 52. However, construction work is still going on in the cottage. The CM said that along with increasing the capacity of beds in this hospital, all necessary facilities will be made available for the treatment of patients very soon.
