State Urban Development Authority’s Director Rajesh Kumar Sharma today asked officials in Hazaribagh  to  work towards getting  better  ranks than the last year in the cleanliness survey 2018 beginning January 4.

“last time Dhanbad, Hazaribagh and Giridih had got better ranks. Take it as a challenge and try to score more and more points this year to be ranked better than the last time. Chatra and Ramgarh were in the red zones during last survey so they will have to work hard to come out of this zone,” Sharma said after inaugurating a divisional level workshop.

Addressing the gathering of local body officials, staff, representatives of NGOs, Sharma said that the goal can be achieved only through proper coordination. So the officials and staffs of local bodies should try to involve different organisations, religions, clubs etc in this cleanliness agitation going on in entire country. The more number of people co-operating you will increase your chances of getting better rank in the forthcoming survey in which all the local bodies of the country are going to participate.

later experts illustrated the distribution of points in the survey through power point presentation and also gave tips to get maximum points in every segment of the competition. There stress was on door to door garbage collection and its decomposition procedure adopted by the local bodies. The process of collection of fine from the guilty persons and keeping its record was also illustrated by the experts. The experts informed that the Jharkhand government has not only banned polythene in the state but it has also banned propylene too and it has been noticed during last few months that shopkeepers are using bags of propylene when government took some hard steps to check the use of polythene.

SDO Aditya Ranjan, Additional Collector, Garima Singh, District education officer Sarita Dadel, Deputy Mayor Annand Dev, EO Municipal Corporation Ashish Kumar, SDO Ramgarh and EOs of other municipal bodies of North Chotanagpur division were present with their staffs in this workshop held in Suchna Bhawan Hazaribagh.
