Ranchi District administration will organise special camps in all 2771 polling booths in Ranchi District on September 15 and 22 at all centers to add names in voters’ list. During this time, all the booth level officers will be present in their respective polling booths.
Addressing a press meet on Friday Ranchi District Deputy Commissioner (DC), Rai Mahimpat Ray, said that the work of publication of draft electoral role is going on. “Our priority is to add new voters. Any eligible citizen, who has attained the age of 18 years as on January, 1, 2019 or who has been left, should register his name in the voter list.
BLOs will be present in booths with all forms. People can apply to add, correct, move and delete names in the voter list,” he added.
The DC informed that all the applications received will be executed by October 12, 2019. Every booth will be inspected during the special camps held on September 15 and 22, he added.
“Action will be taken against the BLOs, who were absent in the camp held in booths on September 8. Action has been ordered against 50 BLOs,” said Ray. He also said that the BLO team will work from house to house.
Expressing concerned over voter gender ration Ray said that there is a need to improve the voter list sex ratio in the district.
“The voter gender ratio of the country is 972 while that of the district is 950. The legislative male-female voter ratio is even lower. The lowest is in Kanke and Ranchi, which needs improvement,” he added.
“The final publication of the voter list will be done on October 12, 2019. If any eligible citizen wants to use his franchise, then he can register himself in a special camp on this Sunday and next Sunday.
Any information related to the voter list can be obtained from the helpline number. In case of any problem, people can contact deputy election officer on their mobile number 8210666894,” said Ray.
