A meeting of senior officers of district and police administration took place in the collectorate meeting hall in which the details of programmes to be held on the Independence Day this year were planned.
It was decided that this year, main flag hoisting ceremony of the district will be organised in the premises of main stadium at 9:05am.DC Sunil Kumar presided this meeting in which it was decided that on August 15 this year a friendly football match will be organised in the stadium between administrative officers and Professors XI.
The match will start from 3:00pm. In the evening a cultural programme will take place from 6:30pm in the town hall.On the eve of Independence Day, there will be a Unity-cum-Harmony race for both the kids and youths on 14th August. It will start at 7:30am from the foothills of canary hill and it will end in the stadium. For men it will be a 2km long race and for women 1km long race.
On 14th in the stadium premises there will be a painting and spelling competition for the school students of different groups.The winners of these competitions will be felicitated on 15th August. SP Manoj Kaushik, DDC Ravindra Prasad Singh, AC Ranjan Choudhary, DPRO Rashmi Sinha, DEO Rajkumar Prasad Singh, DSO Rajeev Kumar Singh, Sardar Preetam Singh of Scout and Guide, Virendra Kumar of District athletic association, Sanjay Tiwari of JEP and others were also present.
