The JPCC while hitting hard at the Jharkhand Government for deteriorating law and order situation in the State, especially in Ranchi has charged State police chief DK Pandey for doubling as spokesperson of the ruling BJP.
The party against the growing crime rate organised a gherao of Ranchi SSP office on Friday on these issues where party men reached in the form of a march and burnt the effigy of the DGP. President of the Ranchi Mahanagar Congress Committee Sanjay Pandey addressing the workers recalled the incidents taken place during last few months.
“The DGP has become new spokesperson of the BJP who instead of talking about unabated crime rate across the State talks about GDP growth of the State. The police department under him has failed to ensure even minimum level of security to the people. The situation has gone out of control leading to illegal acts such as illicit liquor sale, snatching, murder, dacoity taking every day. But the DGP is playing a role of poll strategists of the BJP,” said Sanjay Pandey.
The party presenting facts about recent crime incidents especially those reported very near to VVIP areas also went on alleging Chief Minister Raghubar Das for turning a blind eye. “The Government under the Chief Minister has completely politicised the police system in Jharkhand. Officers are under intense pressure to work according to the instructions coming from the dispensation whereas common men are living in fear psychosis under present rule,” said Pandey.
The party on the occasion demanded removal of incapable officials and appealed to the Government to ensure safety and security of the people of the State.
