In a heart rending scene, a woman along with her two kids attempted suicide while jumped-off in the Koyal river in a state of depression.
She first threw her son and daughter into the two feet running water in the river and was about to jump in when the passersby noticed and restrained the mother from the act of suicide.
later the passersby tried to rescue the children but by then her son died while the daughter was rushed to hospital where she is surviving said DSP Heera lal Ravi.
The DSP said that role of the Chainpur police was most apathetic as it did not take cognisance of this tragedy born out of family feud. The mother identified as Khusbu Devi of Bandua village. Police have now begun the investigation.
