In the fiscal year 2013-14 the Government agencies have registered 26,376 pregnant women in the district till the end of November, but till November, only 1694 institutional delivery have been registered here.
When this figure was kept before DC Sunil Kumar and other senior officials of the district in a review meeting of NRHM, they all became
serious. Worried DC directed the officials to try every possible measure to encourage
institutional delivery in the district. DC Sunil Kumar along with trainee IAS Harshika Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr Vinay Kumar, District Social Welfare Officer Madhumita Kumari, DPO Ajay Kumar and others reviewed the progress in
different programmes of NRHM on Monday evening.
It was informed in the meeting that the number beneficiaries is 17,372 in Janani Suraksha Yojna in the district out of which only 407 have their UID,1974 have EID and 4409 have bank accounts.
DC directed the medical officer’s incharge of different blocks to submit the data base within ten days.
He made it clear that those who will fail in it shall be punished. DC Sunil Kumar once again became annoyed when he came to know that in the month of November only 14 kids suffering from malnutrition were treated in the district, 10 at Sadar Hospital Hazaribagh and 4 at Barhi center.
