Chief Minister Raghubar Das, along with his delegation, on Monday evening met host of start-ups in Bengaluru in order to invite them to the State.
The CM, who is accompanied by a delegation comprising Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma and IT Secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal apart from other senior officials, would hold a separate meeting with other industry people operating in the State on Tuesday. Some MoUs, including with IT major Cisco may also take place.
Sharing some of the details, Director in the Information Technology Directorate Umesh Prasad Sah said that the very purpose of the consultation was to share feelings of each other. "The Chief Minister along with the delegation met several start-ups flourishing in large numbers in Karnataka. The new budding companies would be apprised about our industrial and start-up policies. We would also be collecting their feedbacks to point out grey areas, if any," said Sah from Bengaluru.
"The Chief Minister along with his IT Advisory Committee would sit separately tomorrow. Purpose of the meeting that would also be followed by a 'road show' is to attract investors to the State. He is also scheduled to hold a meeting with a team of Infosys," he added. The meeting with Infosys is also expected to comprise its mentor and founder N Narayana Murthy.
Another official present in the delegation said that the endeavour was more aimed to overcome the backwardness of the State on IT front. "We have not been able to scale up in the IT field which could be another area besides, mines and minerals. We lack in IT related education at school and college levels. If the meetings can attract IT giants in some form in the State for upgrading our quality of education and level of innovation, then it would be a big gain for Jharkhand," he said.
Notably, the Government recently took a decision to employ companies like Cisco and Oracle for skill development of college goers which is aimed to make them employable. The exercise is also important ahead of the proposed Global Investors' Summit scheduled to be held in Ranchi in February 2017. The delegation is also looking to travel to Hyderabad on Wednesday.
