Chief Minister Raghubar Das, who seems to be on a cleaning spree of the Government departments, has directed to rope in officials ‘only of a clean image’ at key positions after removing the inefficient and corrupt ones immediately. Anjneulu Dode, currently posted as DDC in Simdega, is said to be chosen for the coveted post of CEO of Ranchi Municipal Corporation.
“Cleaning up of Government departments is being done one by one and the process has been started from JUVVNl, Health, Industry, Mines etc,” said a senior official in the Personnel department. Some of the recent developments which took place in the last few days where the officials who were reluctant to hand over charges were made to hand it over to the succeeding officers have really passed a strong message in the administrative corridors, added the official.
The official further added the CM has taken a strong note against the corrupt officials and was regularly taking action against them as and when it was being taken to his knowledge.
Sources in the Personnel department revealed that Dode’s transfer notification as new RMC CEO would be released soon. “The department has asked the Urban Development Department to report any kind of irregularity done by the former CEO so that proper action could be taken against him,” said another official sitting at a key post in the department.
Referring to the positive changes taking place in the Government departments after CM Raghubar Das taking charge of his office, Principal Secretary in the personnel Department SK Satpathy also said that complete change in the work culture could be easily visible in almost every department of the State Government.
“We have registered around 94-95 per cent attendance on time since the new CM has take charge which is really encouraging for us,” said Satpathy. We have a clear cut instruction from the CM that there should not be a single pending file and anybody coming to the official with his grievance must be attended in a positive way, he added.
Satpathy further added that people working in the offices now prefer sticking to their chairs, which itself is enough to increase their efficiency. As CM himself remains here from 9 to 5, others too are forced not to leave office before time, he added.
