The Giridih police on Sunday busted a racket allegedly involved in cyber crimes and cheating. Two fake bank officials in this connection at Sonabad village under the Bengabad police station along with several other have been arrested as well. The accused have been identified as Arbind Mandal and Sintu Mandal are resident of Sonabad area within the jurisdiction of Bengabad police station .They hail from district and engaged in this profession for last few years said SDPO Manis Toppo.
Besides, the police have seized one laptop, one mobile, several sim cards,10 aadhaar cards, 6 ATM cards, stamps, voter ID and others documents from their possession. SDPO Manis Toppo said that the gang was busted after they received a tip-off. "We have information that Arbind Mandal and Sintu Mandal were in the Sonabad area and have cheated several peoples of the district with the help of bank officials. They call people over the mobile ask them that they are the bank staff and demand their ATM number and its pin," said the official.
The Police said that after getting PIN number they have drawn money from their accounts. Interrogation is continuing in the case, said the police.
