Director General of CRPF RR Bhatnagar reached CRPF 134 battalion headquarter in Daltonganj on Thursday. He was accompanied by senior cops like Kuldip Singh, Murari Lal Meena, Sanjay Anand A Lathkar, Vijay Kumar and others.
DG CRPF held a review meeting with DIG of Police Vipul Shukla, 134 Bn Commandant AD Sharma, SP Palamu Indrajeet Mahatha and a host of other officials.
DG CRPF’s visit here much before the coming Lok Sabha election in this maoists-hit Palamu police range carries enough tactical and strategical weight and meaning. Bhatnagar said, “Our aim and concern is to have a peaceful election and for that all measures will be applied here.”
Bhatnagar said the morale of our forces both police and CRPF is too high.
There is a very flawless co ordination too between the CRPF and the police here and this we will put to all our benefits and advantages.
“The performance of the security forces here has been ‘utkrisht’ (excellent). I have come here to give them a big pat. This is all because of co ordination.”
DG CRPF said the naxals’ scenario in the country and in Jharkhand has changed a lot. Security forces have made them restricted and confined.
Local administration is reaching out to the masses in the most interior and inaccessible areas now.”
“Naxals’ area of influence has reduced. It has shrunk,” Bhatnagar said.
On how security forces will take on the naxals in the ensuing Lok Sabha election DG CRPF said, “IED (improvised explosive device) is a major threat. CRPF has over the years equipped itself with latest technology to deal with this menace.”
State ADG police Murari Lal Meena said there would be a big offensive against the naxals to contain curb and control them in the region Burha Pahar and Chakarbhonga in Bihar and this range will be made tougher for them.
He agreed that Latehar is our focus where there are security apparatus at such strategical locations which are a pain in neck for the naxalites.
“Our forces are at all such places in Latehar where naxals eyes are bound to meet us and we will neutralize them if they show any aberration” Meena asserted.
