The CPM Hazaribag wing staged a one day protest, demanding Hazaribag to be declared an arid zone. The protest was headed by district secretary of the party Ganesh Kumar Citu. After the protest the party leaders handed over a nine point demand letter to the deputy commissioner of Hazaribag.
In the demand letter the party leader said that there was less than 60 per cent rainfall in the month of June. In the month of July the farmers of the district are still waiting for rainfall. This is the reason that the district should be declared an arid zone.
The leaders further said that the farmers of the district did not get the amount of crop insurance from the year 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21. The party demands that the arrear must be paid to the farmers as early as possible.
In the government program ‘Sarkar Apke Dawar’ hundreds of applications were submitted by the villagers but still the villagers did not get any response on their applications.
They have also demanded to issue birth and death certificates on war footage. The applications are still pending in the corporation office.
The party demanded that the incomplete projects of DMFT must be completed in the district. They have also demanded the audit of the amount which was expended under the DMFT fund.
