A Ranchi Court on Wednesday rejected bail application of JMM MlA Chamra linda, arrested on Saturday for allegedly being involved in a scuffle with the police at Jharkhand Assembly gate in the year 2013. The court of Additional Judicial Magistrate – II Arvind Kumar rejected linda’s bail application on the ground that the section imposed on linda was non-bailable and he was a named accused in the case.
“Court rejected bail application filed by the JMM MlA as he was booked under Section 353 of IPC that is a non-bailable provision and he had been made a named accused in the case,” said Additional Public Prosecutor Avdhesh Kumar. The court after hearing arguments from both the sides rejected the bail application, he added.
Section 353 refers to assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty. linda was dramatically arrested a few hours before Rajya Sabha elections on Saturday in a 2013 road blockade case in which he was allegedly involved in a scuffle and was wanted afterwards.
