A familiar face never finds it difficult to win an election irrespective of the degree of competition or the stature of other candidates. This is what mayoral candidate Sanjay Toppo believes.
“I have been fielded by people who know me very well,” said Toppo. Toppo is counting on his association with local sports bodies and familiarity with employee unions of different organisations in Ranchi. He has also been involved in organising sporting activities in Ranchi.
Toppo said, “I have always been active in sports so I am a popular figure among the youths,” and it is because the youths I am contesting mayoral election this time.
I am popular among employee unions of organisations such as CCl, Railways, RIMS and many others; they will help me in winning election, added Toppo. Toppo’s optimism also stems from his popularity among rural populace.
Strikingly, Toppo’s vision for Ranchi is similar to other mayoral candidates and revolves round clean and green Ranchi.
However, he wants to create a proper monitoring system to ensure that councillors instead of offering lame excuses do the work they will be selected for.
“I will hold meeting once in a week with Circle Officers to asses the progress of development works and will ask for progress report from the employees,” added Toppo.
